Another Nigerian pastor, Reverend Stephen Akinola, the General Overseer of Redemption Ministries Worldwide is dead.
The Port Harcourt-based Pastor died in the early hours of Sunday, June 6, at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja, according to reports.
The exact cause of Reverend Stephen Akinola’s death has not been confirmed but he was said to have undergone a kidney transplant few months back ago.
Reverend Akinola was a native of Igboho town in Oyo State. He was aged 68. The news of Akinola’s death came in hours after the death of Prophet TB Joshua, the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations.
Apostle Eugene Ogu, a former chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) described Akinola’s death as sad.
He said: “Yes, it is a very sad day for the Christian community. While we were still talking of Prophet TB Joshua, Akinola’s death happened. “It is so sad. I pray that God comforts the entire body of Christ because he (Akinola) laboured so much for the body of Christ.”
Meanwhile, the Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams on Sunday, June 6, described the death of the founder of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, as an eclipse in God’s vineyard, saying it was a rude shock.
